How do I set up my PAX terminal for Atoa?

Last updated on Sep 12, 2025

You can use your PAX terminal (A920 / A920 Pro / A920 Max) to accept both Pay by Bank and card payments with Atoa. Setup is quick and only takes a few minutes.

How do I connect my PAX terminal to Wi-Fi?

  • Power on your device by holding the power button until the screen lights up.

  • Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Android status bar.

  • Toggle Wi-Fi On (if it’s off) and select your preferred network from the list.

  • Enter the Wi-Fi password and tap Connect.

Once connected, you’ll see the Wi-Fi icon in the status bar.

Tip: Keep your terminal close to your router for a stable connection.

How do I install the paper roll?

  • Pull the latch on top of the terminal’s printer cover to open it.

  • Place the paper roll inside with the paper feeding from the bottom and rolling forward.

  • Pull a small strip of paper outside the lid.

  • Close the cover until it clicks shut.

Tip: Use high-quality 58 mm thermal paper to get clear prints and reduce jams.

How do I test my setup?

  • Open the Atoa POS app on your terminal.

  • Create a small test payment (e.g. £1.00).

  • Try both Pay by Bank and Card.

  • Check that a receipt is printed.

You’re ready to take payments! Place your terminal at your checkout, keep it charged, and ensure Wi-Fi stays connected for smooth transactions.
