What are Communication Preferences?

Communication Preferences allow you to choose how you’d like to receive updates from Atoa.

You can control notifications by channel (Push Notifications, Email or Mobile SMS) and by activity type (such as Payments, Payouts or Refunds), directly from your dashboard or mobile app.

This gives every team member the flexibility to receive only the updates that are relevant to their role and day-to-day responsibilities.

Where do I find the Communication Preferences?

Communication Preferences are available on the Atoa Business Dashboard here: https://dashboard.paywithatoa.co.uk/my-account/settings/communication-preference.

Alternatively, you can navigate through Settings > Settings > Communication Preferences, to view and manage your options.

How it works

For each notification type (for example, Payments, Payouts, Refunds, Billing), you’ll see three toggle options:

  • Push notifications

  • Email

  • Mobile SMS

You can turn each toggle on or off depending on how you’d like to receive that update. This allows you to customise notifications based on your day-to-day responsibilities.

Why are some toggles disabled?

Some communication channels may appear greyed out and cannot be switched on.

For example:

  • If you hover over the Email or Mobile SMS toggle next to certain options (such as Payments), you may not be able to enable them.

This is because that specific communication channel is not currently supported for that notification type.

We’ll enable additional channels as functionality becomes available.

Default settings by role

All notification preferences come with default settings based on your user role.

  • Default settings remain unchanged unless you manually update them.

  • You can opt in or opt out at any time (where supported).

Business Owner (Account Sign-up User)

The Business Owner will continue to receive:

  • Payment notifications

  • Payout updates

  • Refund notifications

  • Billing updates

These are enabled by default via email to ensure important account information is not missed. However, the Business Owner can manually opt out if required.

Important notes

  • Communication preferences are user-specific. Each team member can customise their own settings.

  • Changes take effect immediately after being saved.

  • Disabled toggles indicate functionality that is not yet available.
