How does Atoa work for clinics?
Atoa helps dental practices, vet clinics, physiotherapists, and other healthcare providers take instant payments and card payments in one place, whether you're collecting at reception, sending an invoice after a consultation, or securing a deposit before an appointment.
With Pay by Bank, patients pay directly from their Bank app. Payments are confirmed in seconds, with no card details to enter.
You can also enable card payments, giving patients the flexibility to pay however they prefer.

Can I take a deposit to reduce no-shows?
Yes. You can send a secure payment link via SMS or email to collect a deposit when an appointment is booked.
This gives patients a financial commitment to their appointment and significantly reduces last-minute cancellations.
How do I handle payments for high-value or multi-stage treatments?
For treatments like implants, orthodontics, or ongoing physio, you can take partial payments across multiple stages.
For example, you can:

Request the final balance once treatment is complete
The same payment link can be reused, so patients can return and pay each stage when they're ready. Everything is tracked in your dashboard, so there's no manual reconciliation needed.
Can I collect payment remotely after a consultation?
Yes. You can send a payment link via SMS or email at any point, before, during, or after the appointment. Patients don't need to return to the practice to pay. They simply open the link and complete the payment from wherever they are.
Can my reception team take payments?
Yes. You can add your team to Atoa and assign each person a role based on what they need access to.
There are three built-in roles:

Cashier – can take payments but has limited visibility

Supervisor – has broader access to manage and review payments

Admin – has the same access as the account owner
You can also create a custom role, give it a name, and assign it exactly the permissions you want.
Do patients need to download anything?
No. Patients don't need to download a new app.
They simply scan a QR code or click on a payment link, then choose to pay through their Bank app or by card. For Pay by Bank payments, they authenticate using Face ID, fingerprint, or passcode.
How quickly do payments settle?
Pay by Bank payments settle instantly, with funds arriving in your account in real time. Every payment is confirmed the moment it's made, so your records are always up to date.

Can I manage payments across multiple locations?
Yes. If you run more than one practice or branch, you can manage all payments from a single Atoa account.
Each location can have its own QR codes, payment links, and staff access, while you retain full visibility across all sites from your dashboard. This makes it easier to track performance and stay organised without switching between systems.
Does Atoa prompt patients to leave a Google review?
Yes, on the Growth and Advance plans.
After paying through an Atoa payment link, patients are automatically prompted to leave a review, no follow-up needed from your team.
Four-star reviews and above go straight to your Google Business Profile, while lower ratings are routed privately to your dashboard first.
